Ball Bearing Hinges

Ball bearing hinges also known as ball race hinges are a heavy duty range of door hinges that offer an ultra smooth operation even in the most demanding environments, this range of ball bearing hinges comprises of three and four inch hinges suitable for internal applications.

Our four inch ball bearing hinges are CE marked which is mandatory in all European countries with the exception of the UK, Eire, Sweden, and Portugal. In the UK under the Construction Products Directive it is required that all fire door hinges should comply to BS EN 1935: 2002 being suitable for both FD30 and FD60 fire door applications.

The additional and minimum requirements to CE mark hinges is the auditing of the factory production controls by an independent body that checks the hinges are manufactured to controlled standards and ensuring that hinges supplied to the end users are consistent with the hinges tested and approved to the above standards.

As European standards are implemented in addition to changes in Building Regulations, particularly regarding the increase in requirement for; fire doors, emergency escape routes, wider doors for disabled access, and door controls, the demand on hinge performance continues to increase, taking a chance to save a few pence could be extremely costly in the long run.

Three inch ball bearing hinges are ideal for standard internal doors of 35-40mm thick. CE marked ball bearing hinges are also suitable for fire door applications. This range of ball bearing hinges are generally manufactured from high grade stainless steel and are available in a wide range of finishes including, black enamel, polished and brushed; brass, nickel and steel.
