This sash window catch thumb turn features a straight arm that pulls the windows together at the meeting rails. mounting rectangular plate measures 70mm long by 20mm wide, The height to the pivot point is 20mm , the height to top of the reeded (milled grooved ridges) handle is 42mm. The rectangular keep is 70mm long by 20mm wide with a height of 15mm.
Installation is surface mounted and easily fitted to timber windows with 4 fixing screws to ensure a dependable operation, and is supplied as a single set (1 catch) complete with slot head screws for a traditional authentic look.
- PRO TIP: To ensure the best aesthetics and operation on wider windows, divide the bottom sash rail by four and fit two catches at the left and right divide, the distance between the two catches will be twice that from the side. Ensure the fasteners are located to ensure the windows lock and pull together. Use the spare hardened steel screw to ensure the drilled pilot holes will accept the brass screws with out deforming the heads (especially important in aged timber, oak, and other hardwood doors).
